Who We Are
Marshall Tire Group first opened it's doors on April 1, 1988 by Lee Marshall
and 5 other tire industry veterans, combining over 50 years experience into the company. Over
20 years later we are still going strong and pride ourselves on our expertise of all tire applications.
Employees and management have come and gone, and now only 2 of the original 6 remain. Lee Marshall
as President of the company, and Paul Systo as the Vice President of Sales.
Lee Marshall managed the South Burlington and Middlebury locations simultaneously for Reilly Tire Corporation
until he had a dispute with ownership which forced him to leave (taking multiple employees with him) and become direct competition
to Reilly Tire. Before Reilly Tire, Lee managed the Burlington location for Noyes Tire. Lee has always taken the hands-on
approach to the tire business. There have been many times when customers would see Lee himself arrive on a job site
with a boom truck to do the job. Lee has since delegated the service work to other employees so that he may
focus on bookkeeping and paperwork. Still hands-on, Lee is often in the shop helping the guys get caught up during busy times.
Paul Systo came with Lee from Reilly Tire as one of the original "suicide six." Paul has been our primary salesman since
opening in 1988. As others have left, Paul has taken on more and more of the customer base, visiting many customers on a weekly
basis. He is on the road nearly every day picking up and delivering tires and covers all of northern Vermont
on his routes, from the Canadian border to White River Junction, and as far east as St. Johnsbury.
Jason Marshall rejoined the staff full-time in November, 1999. (Previously working summers during high school.)
He was brought on as a service manager for the shop, but within a year was moved into a road service position.
Throughout the years he has moved up still into giant earthmover tire service and while continuing boom truck operation
he is currently the Vice President of Operations for the company, taking on many roles including safety and training.
Eric Hart (Originally starting in late 1998) rejoined the staff in October, 2002 after leaving for a year to explore other avenues.
Eric is currently an inside sales representative and route truck driver, along with shop supervisor and a backup service technician.
Bill Morse is our newest team member, starting in April, 2011. Bill filled our Commercial Tire Sales position. He comes to us from an extensive history in automotive parts, service, and tires. He is quickly being trained on our operation and our specailty of Truck and Off-The-Road tires. Bill is currently on the road calling on some of our existing accounts as well as esablishing his own client base.
Our shop and road service staff usually ranges between 4 and 6 employees. They all have been trained in-house to our standards. New employees are
put through OSHA (29CFR1910.177) training as well as parts of the Tire Industry Association Commercial Tire
Service (CTS)Technician level course. All employees eventually take the complete class and test to become certified.
